It's finally done! And I am so sick of frames, haha.

My wonderful friend ~Raelinor and I have just finished hanging a ton of our artwork up at Sunnyside Up café (in Corvallis).
During this last week of getting everything ready for the show, I felt like we weren't going to have enough, so I was trying to frame as much as I could. But we ended up having to cram a lot of it, even with all the space we had.
It looks really cool, and I'm really happy to finally see it all together.
Thank you so so much to Dad, Mom, Sophie, Ana, and Neebin for all the hard work it took to get our stuff up on the walls tonight.
Thanks also to the owners of Sunnyside Up for giving us the opportunity to do this at all, and to the staff that were there tonight, who waited for us to finish and fed us yummy treats.
And to Neebin of course. I'm very honored to be sharing the "stage", so to speak, with such a talented artist.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how long it's been since I've updated this journal. It seems especially bad because I will only have my subscription for a few more months.

Hello everyone!

First off, I'd like to apologize for my inactiveness on the internet for the past few weeks. I'm going to try my best to get caught back up.

Well, it seems I skipped an entire month here. The summer is going by so fast! And, since I haven't left the state at all this year, I thought it would make sense to have a journal featuring images of the lovely place I've lived all my life: Oregon, USA.

Well it's June now, which is Queer Pride Month. (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, asexual, pansexual, intersex, gender queer, etc.)

I started off by celebrating at the Alt Prom here in Corvallis on the 1st of June. It was my second time attending, and I had a fantastic time, even though I'm not usually one for big parties. They had a drag show with 3 drag queens that came in from Eugene, and then a few of the local highschoolers strutted their stuff as well.

The fashion was excellent of course, with a double-theme of fabulous/industrial. I wore some rainbow thigh-high socks that I recently ordered. I love them a lot, so you may see them show up in pictures sometime in the future...

I thought I would share with you one of my favorite flowers: Poppies.
The ones I love most are the red ones, which I believe are usually in the genus "Papaver".

Why do I love them so much? I'm not exactly sure. But I do know that I love them most in fields, all swaying together in their glorious colorfulness.

I think my interest in poppies first started, or least was pushed along, when I saw the movie "My House In Umbria". At the beginning of the movie, a bomb goes off on a train, and the camera shows pieces of glass flying in slow motion, and slicing through the petals of the poppies in the field by the traintracks. It was strangely beautiful to me.

Someday I want to visit France and Italy, and maybe Spain, and see the countryside there, and the poppy and lavender fields.
